Bayerngas GmbH is the parent company of the Bayerngas Group. It controls the subsidiaries and participating interests in Germany and abroad as part of a higher-level Group strategy. However, at the same time Bayerngas GmbH also plays an active role, performing cross-departmental functions for the subsidiaries.
It is also directly responsible for the onshore exploration and production business, within which Bayerngas GmbH has operations in Brandenburg:

Bayerngas Energy GmbH offers municipal utility companies, regional gas companies and large industrial clients attractive natural gas solutions, from demanding and complex supply products to market-oriented services and training.
The supply, service and consultancy business concentrates on the German and Austrian (Tyrol/Eastern control area) market. The philosophy of the Bayerngas distribution business: Building relationships with customers based on personal contact and a common language.
Spirit Energy Limited
Spirit Energy was created in 2017 following the combination of Centrica's Exploration & Production business and Bayerngas Norge AS. The business is 69%-owned by Centrica plc, with the remaining 31% owned by Bayerngas Norge's former shareholders, led by Stadtwerke München and Bayerngas.
bayernSERVICES GmbH, Munich (50 % Bayerngas GmbH)
bayernSERVICES GmbH combines the expertise of Schandl Tief- und Rohrleitungsbau GmbH and Bayerngas GmbH to create a technical service company for natural gas facilities. Its core business is the provision of technical services relating to energy supply using natural gas facilities. This includes maintenance and servicing, operating and constructing gas networks and facilities, as well as providing training and advice on how to make cost savings.
bayernugs GmbH, Munich (100 % Bayerngas GmbH)
20 km south-east of Munich, bayernugs GmbH operates the Wolfersberg underground storage facility. By operating the pore storage facility and marketing storage capacities, Bayerngas is making a significant contribution to physical supply security and ensuring flexibility.

bayernets GmbH,Munich, operates a high-pressure natural gas transmission system in Bavaria which is approximately 1,333 kilometres long and ensures its customers efficient and non-discriminatory access to its grid. With a total pipeline area of 32,000 square kilometres, the company is one of the biggest transmission system operators for gas in Germany and offers its customers the highest level of supply security and quality. bayernets GmbH connects the gas transmission system in South East Germany to the Austrian pipeline system via cross border interconnection points thus providing shippers with a gateway to the Eastern European gas market.
